    Angela and I are honored to have been chosen as this year’s honorary co-chairs of the Dairy Town Classic tournament.

    We would like first of all to congratulate the New Dairy Town Classic committee for all the work they have done to re-establish this great tournament after its forced suspension last year.

    Having been involved with the organizing committee for many years, we fully appreciate the great efforts made by many people over the years to ensure the success of the tournament. Of course not only the Dairy Town Classic but the game of basketball itself has brought us great enjoyment.

    Watching our son Ciaran and his teammates play from mini ball through to his four years as a Sonic left us many great memories and friends. To all the players, coaches and fans visiting for this year’s tournament, welcome to Sussex. We trust you will enjoy your time here and will leave with good memories of your Dairy Town Classic experience.

2010 Banquet Guest Speaker

Brent Baker

    Following a rebuilding season that saw the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds improve throughout the year, head coach Brent Baker is back for his second season behind the UNB bench.

    An experienced coach who came to the Varsity Reds after serving as a head coach of the St. FX women’s basketball team, Brent’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the game will help his young team continually improve each and every game this season.

    An NCCP Level III coach as well as a graduate of St. FX (Bachelor of Arts, 1985, Bachelor of Education, 1986) Brent’s experience will be a huge asset in rebuilding the men’s basketball program.

    This isn’t the first time Brent has visited the Dairy Town Classic. In 1992, he was coach of the Cobequid Cougars, who finished third.
