2011 Honorary Chairpersons
Peter and Linda McAleenan
We certainly would like to thank the Dairy
Town Classic committee for selecting us as the 2011 DTC honorary
chairpersons.
Both of our children, Tim and Erin, played in the DTC during
their high school years. They began working their way up as
Dairy Dunkers, went on as mini ball players, and fought to be
floor sweepers. In their minds and those of their teammates,
“Playing in the ‘Dairy Town’ before the student body is more
important than the provincial championship.”
In order for the tournament to have been successful at the
highest level for more than 20 years, it has taken commitment
and a lot of hard work by many, many people. We very much
appreciate the dedication of the present DTC committee for
continuing to keep the Dairy Town Classic operating at this high
level.
Enjoy the games and congratulate our Sonics.
Peter and Linda McAleenan arrived in
Sussex in 1975, when Peter began teaching physical education at
Sussex Composite High School. His boys teams eventually won two
AA provincial titles and two AAA provincials as well as two DTC
championships.
